Sujatha Zafar joined IHS Markit, now S&P Global, in June 2020 as the DEI Lead for their Financial Services business. She is now the VP, Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for S&P Global, taking on enterprise and divisional responsibilities. Sujatha works closely with S&P Global’s Chief Diversity, CR and Foundation officer to deliver on critical firm-wide DEI initiatives and commitments that cover the recruitment, retention, development and engagement of their global workforce. Sujatha comes from a background in account management, sales, and business development, but most recently in diversity executive search and DEI consulting.
In her previous roles, Sujatha worked with professional networks, vendors, and non-profits to build strategic partnerships for diverse talent sourcing. In her consulting role, she worked with a network of over 100 firms to identify, share and execute DEI best practices across the industry.
Sujatha completed her undergraduate degree at Middlebury College and her DEI certification at Cornell University. She serves on the board of Trans New York, an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of trans people in the tri-state area. She is also a proud member of Chief, a professional network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders. Sujatha stays actively involved with her alma mater, Middlebury College, to promote and recruit underrepresented students into finance and tech roles.
