Taras Kowaliw is a Managing Director at Blackstone and Head of People Analytics. He leads a team of data scientists, reporting specialists, and data managers, partnering with HR and business leaders to drive data-driven decisions in hiring, employee experience, and retention. His team delivers both self-serve reporting and advanced analytics to improve outcomes across the firm.

Previously, Taras spent a decade at Goldman Sachs as a quantitative strategist in Public Equity, Alternative Investments, and People Analytics. His work spanned fund performance attribution, portfolio optimization, predictive models for recruiting and retention, and behavioral finance tools for equity managers. Before that, he conducted academic research in machine learning and synthetic biology, including at the CNRS in France.

He holds a PhD in artificial intelligence from Concordia University and a BSc in mathematics from the University of Toronto.
