Rob Cross will discuss his recent book – Beyond Collaboration Overload – and show how top performers who also thrive at work, collaborate in a more purposeful way.

This makes them 18-24% more efficient than their peers, which they accomplish through behaviours we all can replicate. Rob will also show how successful people invest this time in ways that promote performance and wellbeing in today’s hyper-connected world.

People are universally burning out from excess collaborative demands. This was bad before the pandemic, and since it began, has only grown worse.

Most organisations have created always-on work contexts that are burning people out and hurting performance rather than delivering productivity, innovation and engagement. Collaborative work consumes 85% of employees’ time and is drifting earlier into the morning, later into the night, and deeper into the weekend.

The dilemma is that we all need to collaborate more to create effective organisations and vibrant careers for ourselves. But conventional wisdom on teamwork and collaboration has created too much of the wrong kind of collaboration, which hurts our performance, health and overall well-being.

This session will explore:

  • How we know that more effective collaborators are 18-24% more efficient than their peers
  • The 3 categories of behaviours that enable this success: imposing structure; challenging belief, and adapting behaviours
  • How to reinvest this reclaimed collaborative time to promote innovation and scale
  • The relationships that drive wellbeing in today’s hyper connected world.

Learning outcomes:

  • Learn the skills of successful people
  • Reclaim 18-24% of your time
  • Experience greater wellbeing.
