Ying heads the People Analytics Center of Excellence at PepsiCo, focusing on building and sustaining analytical and AI capabilities that positively impact employees throughout their lifecycle at the company. She has a strong track record in developing human-centered and ethical AI solutions in talent acquisition, skills and career development, talent retention, compensation, pay equity, performance management, and internal career mobility.
Ying possesses deep expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and AI across various domains, including computer vision, digital marketing, services, finance, and people analytics. She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) and has published seven books and book chapters, approximately 80 peer-reviewed technical papers in IEEE and ACM journals and conferences, and has filed 52 patent applications.
Before joining PepsiCo, Ying led a global team of data scientists at IBM’s CHQ HR People Analytics organization, where she applied predictive, prescriptive, and AI technologies to optimize the workforce and help IBMers perform at their best.
