How to Establish People Analytics as a Common Practice (An Academic Perspective)

3:10 PM - 3:45 PM

Based on his PhD research, Patrick will share what factors drive the adoption and ongoing institutionalisation of People Analytics in organisations. During the presentation, Patrick will provide supporting examples based on his 10+ years of experience as a practitioner and global People Analytics leader.

This presentation shares scientific research related to the adoption and institutionalisation of People Analytics, in combination with real-world experience.

  • Embedding and institutionalising People Analytics requires a significant shift in mindset, resources, and processes within an organisation
  • Progress can be hampered by data availability, quality, and privacy concerns
  • The skillset required to interpret and utilise this data effectively is often lacking, demanding significant upskilling or new talent acquisition
  • Cultural barriers can also exist, with reluctance or resistance to data-driven decision-making common in organisations accustomed to traditional, intuition-based approaches
  • Articulating a clear business case for people analytics and demonstrating its tangible value to secure ongoing investment and support can be a challenge.
