The Journey of Creating a SWP Solution at ICRC
How do you determine the workforce planning needs of your organisation, and develop the methodology, tools and data to meet them? Find out how a small project team built a global solution from the ground up at ICRC.
When a new crisis occurs and the humanitarian needs suddenly increase, ICRC needs to send the right people quickly. Whether or not we have right talent available will determine how well we can meet the needs of affected populations. The challenge is to implement a global Workforce Planning approach that works across geographies and across the varied profiles of our talent pools, through different time horizons (Operational and Strategic).
This session will explore:
- How ICRC determined the needs and designed a workforce planning methodology, describing the tools and data required to support that methodology
- How we selected a vendor, running a Request for Proposals and a Proof of Concept to make our choice between off-the-shelf and custom solutions
- How we built the workforce planning tool in Anaplan, addressing challenges such as finding the talent required and integrating data.
