A few short years ago, predictive analytics was something out of reach on the upper left corner of the people analytics roadmap. This is no longer the case. You have access to tools that let you build high quality predictive models on demand. This means you can now apply predictive analytics in new situations. It's not just about predicting turnover anymore. In this talk we're explore the ups and downs of that new reality.

  • Is there more to predictive analytics than just predicting turnover?
  • As the cost of developing models goes down, how can we apply predictive analytics in new ways?
  • What does it even mean to build or use predictive models?

This session will explore:

  • How to build / order up predictive models on demand without being a data scientist.
  • And I mean real models. Not generic, off-the-shelf ones.
  • And this means you can use models in ways that you couldn't before.
  • Which means you can add new value with people analytics.

Learning outcomes:

  • I saw an example of what good predictive analytics looks like. That will help me make better choices.
  • I got inspired about new ways to use predictive analytics.
  • I can now think about predictive analysis as a low cost iterative process that helps me learn.
